Detonation and connotations.

 Blog task: advert analysis

Create a new blogpost in your GCSE Media blog called 'Denotation and connotation'.

1) Write an analysis of the Water Aid advert above using denotation, connotation and analysis. What can you see? What are the deeper meanings in the advert? What does the advert communicate to the audience? How might an audience react after seeing the advert?

I can see that the boy doesn't have water or toilets. This could mean that he is very poor and cannot afford it.The advert tells the audience to donate money for a access to clean water  and toilets. An audience may donate to the water aid charity. Also the graves suggest that they could die in the foreseeable future if they do not get water.Another thing i can connote is the boys face which suggests he is malnutrition and looks quite upset and thirsty. The target audience may donate because they feel pity on they boy and his family and do not want the boy to die at a Young age.

2) Now choose your own choice of advert from Google images. Save it to your documents, insert it into your blogpost and write an analysis using denotation and connotation, explaining what the advert is communicating to the audience.

I can see that the image talks about chicken from KFC.This wants the audience to buy its chicken from KFC as it talks all about chicken and has a picture of one.It also may put red as there poster to show their brand but also may show it because it would make people really hungry after school or work which would increase sales by a lot and increase attraction which would be very beneficial  to the company.Another thing it shows is that nit talks about that they use pure chicken and represented it with a live chicken which suggest they use nothing else but chicken unlike maybe other brands.
