1) What is a convention of a magazine cover? Give an example from Tatler. [2 marks] One convention of a magazine cover would be the catchy cover.This is because it brings in people that would be appealed by it.

 

2) How does the front cover of Tatler use media language to appeal to its target audience? [6 marks] 2 paragraphs - PEEA (see video)

The front cover of Tatler uses media languge to makes it easy for people who are quite rich and wealthy to buy their magazine and buy their products regularly and to be subscribed to the company.This makes a good percentage of the companies revenue aswells as other costs and brings in good money.They also apply to people with famlies to make sure they get a good packaged deal for their next holiday and resorts aswell a hotels.

Another way the cover appeals to the audience is  new trends where the company specifcally show case a range of different items that have been commercially succesful and different designer items to make the people who want to look rich and fancy have an exqusite designer wear weather its from italy or another countrt Tatler has it covered.



 


 

3) How does the front cover of Reveal magazine represent female celebrities? [12 marks]

The front cover of the reveal magazine represents female celeberties in a negative and dergatory manner and how they deal with bad backlash and dfferent types of scandals pretty much every year and how the people met at 'im a celebrity get me out of her' that had gotten married and have had  kids and  have had divorced after and havent talked in a long time.

Reveal also represent celebrities by using photos of them by the paparazzi who have got a glimpse of them.They also add in realism to show how we can connect with the celebrities in our day to day life with our similar mannerisms and habbits that we tend to do every in our life.They also show secret things only accesible by the maggazine buyer and people who own or purchase the issues/

Another thing Reveal does is it show cases Exckusive interviews and facts about celebrities people didnt know before the maggazine.With people like Lauren who had talked about their true story and many more different examples which make the company stand out and differ from the rest to keep a good audience going and a fan base to ensue huge profits and gain the company has when there fans are regular buyers of the company and maggazine articles which give them an edge.

Tatler Language

  1)  What different groups of people are represented on the cover? (E.g. men/women/white people etc. Look at the image  and  text/cover lines to help here)  women are presented as good looking and beautiful.  2) What do the cover lines suggest about the lifestyle of rich people in the UK? That they need to always look good weather its wearing makeup or having cometic looks. 3)  Are there any  stereotypes  being reinforced or subverted? How? Why? That women are more beatiful then men. 4) What would be the preferred and oppositional readings to this cover of Tatler The preferred reading would be to treat women more superior  whilst the oppositional readings might be to treat them equally
